Lynch Mob
Nothing much to report this weekend as there are zero films on general release that tickle my fancy, this may well be a welcome calm before the storm as from Wednesday I shall immersing myself in the deranged dreamscapes of a certain David Keith Lynch, courtesy of a full retrospective of his work at the glorious BFI. This foreboding mission should occupy much of this blogs activity over the next three or four weeks, so here is a fantastically arranged montage that should whet your appetite;
Reviewing the schedule shows that this project should map to a chronological order of release, I’m not planning to see everything he’s produced but we shall begin in Heaven then descend to Hell, with some dovetails to intergalatic worlds and suburban nightmares to flesh out the program. For my sins I will also be attending a few talks and context setting discussions, not since the Kubrick season from a few years back have the BFI arranged such a delicious season of delirium.
