R.I.P R.E.M or R.E.M R.I.P?
Hmmm. I don’t own any of their albums, I was never a big fan, but kudos and respect to a talented band who were part of the soundtrack tapestry of my younger musical years – many a Newcastle Brown fuelled evening had these dudes on the playlist somewhere. An obvious choice but here’s a track that always leaps to my generations ears when catastrophe strikes;
Skim reading some of the autopsy threads prompts a nostalgia of a past era, an era where R.E.M were supported by the likes of The Throwing Muses, Pixies or Radiohead – or vice versa when you go back far enough. I liked this one too;
